            "Connection en Mille-Feuille" was my daily companion from 21 November 2021 to 15 January 2022
            for side one, & from 17 January to February 13 2022 for side two.
            Since the mid 90s I keep & carry "carnets" - 2 already published by Redfox press - or a field notebook
            wherever I go. The size & shape depends, but the Leporello format is one of my favorites.
            As is the case with all these, the marks are always in direct relation with what I see, read, listen to,
            question, study or/and want to remember to feed my artistic quest. I have seen & photographed
            all the birds drawn on this pages. The main writings are from readings or lectures by Vinciane Despret,
            Donna Haraway, Susan Simard, Native American dictionaries & history books, geological studies
            of where I live in Bayridge, Brooklyn. The terminal moraine where I saw most of these birds always
            reminds me that "the job is to go beyond what we know". Like exquisite layered pastry,
            whether it is about the ground beneath us, the birds we see, the books we read, the people we talk to..
            all are composed of discrete layers of (often) imperceptible but rich & complex formations.




            Nicole Peyrafitte is a pluridisciplinary artist born and raised in the Gascony part
            of the Pyrenees & residing in Brooklyn, NY. Her texts, voice-work, paintings,
            videos, & cooking are displayed in a range of multi-lingual & multi-faceted performances.
            Peyrafitte's work is informed & characterized by a daily practice - a quest for life
            in art and art in life between two continents & four languages.
