SELECTING AND BUYING OF PAPER FOR THE PROJECT (MAI 2011)
In the Bangsan Sijang printers market in Seoul
we found a merchant selling recycled paper sacks of cattle food.
These are normally sold as rough packing paper cut in pieces of 45x90 cm folden in half.
We used already once for another project a similar paper.
We loved the structure, the touch and the roughness of the paper
and thought it would fit perfectly for our present poster project.
We had it packed straight in postal cartons and delivered by bicycle
to the nearest post office and sent by boat to Ireland.

COLLECTING MATERIALS IN PARIS (MAI AND NOVEMBER 2011)
Spending 3 full days in the metro with tripod and camera,
traveling on all lines and stopping as soon as we saw torn poster surfaces.
Looking up for the poster cleaners with their ladder, bucket and pouch full of sticky posters.
Spending some hours with them picking up interesting layers of many posters.
Finally in our hotel room sorting out over the bed huge posters, cutting in pieces
to send back home or stuff in our luggage.

TARPAULIN FOR THE COVER (IRELAND NOVEMBER 2011)
At Jacobs Trucks in Foxford we bought tarpaulin from an accidented truck.
Cleaning of the tarpaulin in the garden and cutting into smaller pieces.
Selecting pieces which can be used as cover for the project, which then will be cut
to the exact size and screen printed.

THE PRINTING OF THE BOOK (IRELAND DECEMBER 2011 - FEBRUARY 2012)
First the paper needs to be prepared and folded in half.
Small corn feed rests still sticking in the inner layers have to be removed,
and occasionally some papers discarded which were too much bitten by mice.
Sorting out of the original posters to size for further collage work.
Screen printing of photographs from torn posters.
Screen printing on the tarpaulin cover.
